Alabama's Former Governor Don Siegelman will be leaving prision after a short time in prison.Both he and Richard Scrushy, former HealthSouth CEO, were convicted in 2006 on the same day of federal bribery, conspiracy and fraud charges.
"Prosecutors alleged Scrushy bought a seat on a state board with a $500,000 donation to Siegelman's lottery campaign.
Siegelman, 62, also was convicted on a separate obstruction of justice charge that he tried to hide $9,200 he received from a lobbyist by claiming the money was an aide's down payment for his motorcycle." Read the complete article: Birmingham News
