Move over Grassman, here comes Granny!

Have you called your grandmother today? You may discover that she has applied for a job as Deputy Director or Director of the Public Works Department in Birmingham, Alabama.

According to Alfred "Buddy" Smith Jr., board member of Birmingham's personnel board, he said, "If there weren't minimum requirements, someone could appoint their grandmother."

This all came to light when Mayor Langford of Birmingham "submitted an application for Kennedy" who in the past was a landscape supervisor and laborer. Now he has been rushed to the front of the pack to direct and "manage a multimillion dollar budget." If Mr. Kennedy is applying for the job then granny had better get a move on!

See and read article in the Birmingham News today.
