Palin VS. Biden, it's alternate worlds!

With approximately 35 days to go to see who we elect as the next leader of the free-world, Americans have really botched this political cycle. Yes, I said Americans, how do you spell dumb, dumber or dumbest? Regardless what you think of the candidates, you will hear someone this week not satisfied about any given choice. What has happened to us?

Our current culture allows the media to dictate our news as well as the person we vote for. If you don't believe me watch CNN or MSNBC and then watch FoxNews after the Vice-Presidential debate on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2008. You will think you live in an alternate world. You can even look at the latest polls. Who really knows if those are truthful. Who are those people they call anyway? I've never gotten a call. Neither has anyone I know. It's uncanny. What are they good for?

I knew we were in for a wild ride last year. During the primaries, Governor Mike Huckabee as a presidential candidate was referred to, as evil. It's a wonder they didn't pin some other horrible thing on him like he's really an alien from outer space or he created the internet.

In the media, the newspapers, talking heads and pundits have painted people of faith or rather the far-right/Conservative Christian as if they have a horn growing out from the middle of their forehead? It's ridiculus. What has the far-left/Commie Liberals gained? See what I mean? There are too many acquisations that have been bantied about from one side to another unlike any I've seen in previous political cycles. One thing is for sure, we as Americans are sliding down a slippery slope and I don't know if we will be capable of getting our footing again. God help us.

The Free Market lives to see another day!!

"Voters feel government has no business intervening in free markets, . . ." reported Philip Delves Broughton from The First Post article yesterday.
Why did six of the seven Congressional Representatives in Alabama vote 'yes' to the biggest single government grab of socialism yet in the Bail Out which would give credit markets 700bn? With this affirmative vote, they are essentially saying that the free markets aren't working and we need to join socialized Europe regardless of their own personal reasons. Hats-off to Congressman Robert Aderholt in the fourth District for helping to keep our free market intact.

I cannot think of one legitimate reason in the scope of what our founding fathers orginally set out to accomplish with our freedoms why our representatives would have cast a 'yes' vote. The only possible reason I could think of is that our Alabama delegation thought a 'yes' vote will validate their recognition that 'something' needs to be done. While that may be true, giving a pass and our hard earned money to those who have made these stupid decisions is unacceptable.

To add salt to the wound while the atmosphere is wafting with the smell of vinegar, the leader of the House, Nancy Pelsoi, stepped up and used her power to try and force a complete 'yes' vote. We now know it didn't work and later she blamed the Republican Party once again. Unfortunately, the truth was lost. Leader Pelosi didn't get the job done and the mostly all-male club parted company with her vote. I guess it's true that men don't like being bullied by a woman and told what to do!!

The most tragic part of all this is President Bush is leading the charged along with Nancy Pelosi and the liberal democrats or should I say the social-side of our country.

Socialism Defined by Merriam Webster:

1: any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods;

2: a system of society or group living in which there is no private property b: a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state;

3: a stage of society in Marxist theory transitional between capitalism and communism and distinguished by unequal distribution of goods and pay according to work done.

While growing up, I learned and saw that government control is never the answer and that it creates more problems than it solves. The free market does. It is just that, it's free(without government intervention) to resolve it's own problems.

Matt Murphy loves cats so much, he had one for breakfast!

If you listen to the Murphy Show regularly, you will discover Matt's true love of CATS. Just this week, one of his shows was mostly dedicated to those fancy felines. He spoke to callers about how "juggling cats" were part of his favorite past-time.

(Photo left) Pierre, a fan, listens online daily.

I believe cats from all over the world-wide web and the local listening area participate in calling the show with phony names like 'Buck', 'Cornbread', and 'Ken'.

Even the devoted Georgia Bulldawgs love cats.

9-11 plus 7 years never forget

"Seven years ago today, some very mentally disturbed people flew our very own planes into our very own buildings."

That is what I heard a mother telling her children today, Sept. 11, 2008.

Well, as adults you and I know, 9-11-01 is much more than that. Many things have been discussed about the event that some have deemed as the day America changed. Today is being remembered with ceremonies all across America. How have you remembered it?
Since that day in 2001, I've asked, "What's next? Are other mentally disturbed/misguided people planning another sinister attack?" Over the past seven years, reports have indicated, additional attacks have been thwarted but you and I know it's coming. The day those people that hate America will succeed to do us harm again. That day and today was and is as much about me, as an American, considered a defining moment in my lifetime. I will never forget.

Has anyone found Oprah's eyelashes?

Oprah Winfrey "cried her eyelashes off" while Barack Obama gave his speech last week at the Democratic National Convention. No one has come forward claiming they have found them yet. Early on in his 2008 campaign, she pledged her support to him by opening up with him on a road show in Columbia, S.C. and then interviewed Michelle Obama his wife later on. Prior to the current campaign, she had an affinity toward him with an interview back in 2004.

This week, Oprah had the opportunity to interview Governor Sarah Palin as the McCain choice for vice president. This would have been a wonderful opportunity for Oprah to give both sides of politics, to her mostly women viewers but, she said, "when I decided that I was going to take my first public stance in support of a candidate, I made the decision not to use my show as a platform for any of the candidates." Well, I believe it's a little too late for that sort of reasoning. Maybe she's disgruntled over not having found her eyelashes yet? Whatever the reason, it is apparent that Miss Winfrey has made her committment to her candidate of choice Barack Obama. If only he had of picked her for VP, this would have all made perfect sense.

If you find her eyelashes, please mail them to Matt Murphy at:
