Obama finally gets it Wright....

....But, it may be a little too late. That's what presidential candidate Barack Obama has done by coming out on Tuesday. When Obama says, "That's enough" according to news article by FoxNews, he is essentially turning his back on his friend and pastor Rev. Jeremiah Wright . After many weeks of hearing in the media, the Obamas' family pastor of twenty years, ranting about how he blames our country for various things. The Rev., who married the couple some years ago, has recently said that "the United States brought terrorism upon itself by committing like acts overseas, and he did not back down from a claim that the U.S. government was responsible for afflicting the black community with HIV."

The question remains, Why did it take Obama so long? Is his candidacy in such a quandry that he finds it politically necessary only to dis Rev. Wright now? and How long will it be before Obama is called an Uncle Tom by some? Regardless, Obama has an albatross around his neck. Will he be able to shake it off before it is too late for the nomination? He certainly has lost his shine and glimmer of being the beacon of hope and change.
It's my contention that the serious, hardcore Obama supporter doesn't care if Obama has a plan for change or not. He hasn't produced one. I'm not convinced that the hardcore Obama supporter cares if he associates with the Reverend Wright or William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, the Weather Underground terrorists of the 1960’s. They will vote for him regardless.

Entries in a cat's journal:
DAY 752 - My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while I am forced to eat dry cereal. The only thing that keeps me going is the hope of escape, and the mild satisfaction I get from ruining the occasional piece of furniture. Tomorrow I may eat another house plant.

DAY 761 - Today my attempt to kill my captors by weaving around their feet while they were walking almost succeeded, must try this at the top of the stairs. In an attempt to disgust and repulse these vile oppressors, I once again induced myself to vomit on their favorite chair...must try this on their bed.

DAY 765 - Decapitated a mouse and brought them the headless body, in attempt to make them aware of what I am capable of, and to try to strike fear into their hearts. They only cooed and condescended about what a good little cat I was...Hmmm. Not working according to plan.

DAY 768 - I am finally aware of how sadistic they are. For no good reason I was chosen for the water torture. This time, however, it included a burning foamy chemical called "shampoo." What sick minds could invent such a liquid? My only consolation is the piece of thumb still stuck between my teeth.

DAY 771 - There was some sort of gathering of their accomplices. I was placed in solitary throughout the event. However, I could hear the noise. More importantly I overheard that my confinement was due to MY power of "allergies." Must learn what this is and how to use it to my advantage.

DAY 774 - I am convinced the other captives are flunkies and maybe snitches. The dog is routinely released and seems more than happy to return. He is obviously a half-wit. The bird, on the other hand, has got to be an informant, and speaks with them regularly. I am certain he reports my every move. Due to his current placement in the metal room his safety is assured. But I can wait; it is only a matter of time......

This is one of Murphy's favorite things that he shares with his listeners on occasion. Original link: Differences between a dog's journal and a cat's journal

Mayor Larry Langford joins ranks with Martha Stewart

Martha Stewart will possibly be in attendance this Friday, April 25th at the Sackcloth and Ashes Fest at Boutwell Auditorium in her fashionable sackcloth and ashes. Only time will tell. Read how Martha was able to make it through her trials in New York. A must read article: Martha Stewart Appears in Court in Sackcloth and Ashes by www.bongonews.com .

This week many officials will seek a sign from God as they don their 2,000 sackcloths that Mayor Larry Langford has purchased with taxpayer dollars to get answers for the quandry the city finds itself in. His official proclamation can be read here: Proclamation(pdf file)
Read full article in the Birmingham Weekly: Leapin’ Larry’s Prayer Proclamation

Some in honor of Earth Day
will be recycling their burlap
sackcloths and having some
fun after the event.

Mayor Larry Langford Expected to get a 51% Raise!

Wow! Most people who work can only hope to get a 4% pay raise annually only if they're lucky. By my observations, Mayor Langford has gotten a double dose of luck. Not so fast, he is a government employee, voted in by the people, that is the people in the metro city of Birmingham. I really don't hear anyone in Metropolitan Birmingham complaining. He is enjoying the fruits of our hard earned taxed payer dollars whether you think he is doing a good job or not. He is certainly keeping radio, television, and media moguls hopping these days.

The argument from Rep. John Rogers is that by giving Mayor Langford the substantial raise, brings his salary up to state standards. See Report CBS42. Right or wrong, if he is granted his nearly $45,000 raise, an additional $25,000 yearly increase, $20,000 yearly expense allowance, free vehicle and $800 vehicle allowance. With all being said, the citizens would feel much better if things were not in such a quandry while the city drags on with all the problems and the shenanigan's surrounding the mayor and the city.

Breaking News-Canned Mackeral Prices Up?

Not exactly but they do get a "thumbs up" according to Associated Press article which reported that Les Siegelman, former Governor Don Siegelman's brother, "said his brother had to coax other inmates into watching the Sunday night program(60 Minutes) and offered canned mackerel from the prison commissary to get the TV tuned to CBS." This occurred only a few short days before he was let out of prison after being "convicted of bribery-related and obstruction charges.." Read full article: WFSA 12 News Montgomery
